Bill Clinton rescues the two journalists in North Korea

Very emotional this am when the journalists held in North Korea descended from the plane in Burbank. Gore to greet them early, their families, then Bill Clinton who did the humanitarian rescuing. Such a graceful success story, and right out of some kind of dystopian sci-fi where the shining knight wins the day over the Vaderish ailing dictator in the state where apparently everything is failing, but of course they have a nuclear arsenal. Note that their employer Al Gore spoke, but Clinton did not in the hangar. Interesting, in a sense how former presidents like Clinton, Carter, can have this kind of success, archetypal figures of the seal of the Presidency implanted in their movements. Note also that ex-presidents have a lifetime of secret service protection, befitting dignitaries whose lives continue with utmost relevance long after leaving office. But from this distance, seeing an American gesture that has this kind of emotional power is very believable stuff, and of course one can feel the relief of the families of these two journalists, Lisa and Euna, who must have gone through the agony of uncertainty and fear these five months. Apparently the North Korean leader just wanted to be acknowledged by Clinton, whose presence there was enough to win the day.
