Now we wait. Krugman says the economic situation can get worse before Jan. 20. Hillary looks like she will take State, might be good. Obama has to stay alert and gather his team, but is somewhat powerless until inaugurated. So, the tasks mount, the crisis continues and the pundits are loud but not clear. We are in trouble. Or, perhaps the trouble is specific. Living in Mexico as I do, the dollar is strong against the peso, so fixed incomes seem to be ok. I'd hate to be looking at unemployment, foreclosure, and the indefinite future in that market economy. Let us be hopeful that Obama & Company will have some ideas to stabilize both market and world. It looks like something similar to what FDR had to face in 1932. I suspect we are at least anticipating the arrival of something like a new New Deal. Anything else would seem to me off the mark. The era of Republican rule is closing out and something one can only expect to be better for the many who walk the earth will come into focus. Onward.
