Following Roger Federer to a run-up of great wins in Grand Slam tournaments can't be that easy, but Rafa Nadal of Spain (Mallorca) was unbeatable in the 2010 US Open final against Novak Djokovic. His ground strokes were invincible and there is a focus and determination in his playing style that is unique in tennis history. 'He gives you nothing,' said one rival and he gets to break point faster and more often than any player in memory. His return is as strong as Connors' ever was and his running forehand may be the best ever. There was concern about his knees holding up on hardcourt, but in his fortnight in New York, no sign of weakness of any kind was visible. He is a great champion (nine majors and counting), and seems to have an off-court temperament that is quite modest and good-natured. Bravo Rafa!
